Hi reader,

I have a setup as follows:

2022 server, Citrix VDA on it and Office 365 licensed for every user who logs on.

Opening Outlook = ok, reading mailbox is ok, ost config is ok (ost is refreshed with new items).

User has also a shared mailbox SHAREDMB.

In that SHAREDMB are many subfolders in the inbox.

UserA has full rights on that SHAREDMB and has a certain sequence/order of the folders.

UserB has that same SHAREDMB but the view of her folders is different than the order of UserA.

Even more, when userB put the order like she likes it, that order changes after a time, sometimes after half an hour, sometimes the next morning, .... I thought the order of a shared mailbox was the same for every viewer.

In the session of userB we don't activate User's image

What could be the cause? At userA we don't see any difference with userB. UserA still correct and stays correct.

What I also see is that userB activates the "show total number of items" User's image

but also that parameter is changing to "show number of unread items" . Sometimes after a certain time, sometimes the next logon, ...

Could that have the same cause?

Thank you for your knowledge.

Kurt

    Hi @Kurt Stichelmans

    Welcome to our forum!

Based on your description, it appears that the shared mailbox view settings are different for both users.

Typically, the display view settings for shared mailboxes in Outlook are local to each user profile. This means that changes made to a view by one user, such as folder order or item count settings, do not automatically affect other users. Each user can customize their view independently.

Therefore, in your case, User B's adjustments to the folder order and display settings do not affect User A's shared mailbox view, and vice versa.

However, the settings should be consistent for each user, unless for some reason causes them to reset or restore, which may be related to user profiles, caching, or session management.

Ensure that the Outlook profiles for both users are configured correctly, and that any Group Policies or scripts running on the server do not inadvertently change their settings.

    We change the naming in

    1.01

    1.02

    2.00

    2.01

    etc

Then choose to order from A to Z and never heard anything anymore from the user.

So the issue can be closed.

Thank you for your understanding and helping to clear this out.
