Windows 11 multi user virtual desktop session host defaults to USA date format rather than UK

The Gold image is set for UK date and time and shows correctly. The session host Virtual machine is also set to UK format and shows correct UK format.

When a desktop session is running it shows the USA date format but the time is correct UK time.

What can I do for the desktop session to have the correct date UK format. please

Hi Vivien Millar ,

Based on above query, some configuration settings should be performed to overcome the user defaults to USA instead of UK.

Configure the registry key located at HKEY_USERS.DEFAULT\Control Panel\International. This registry key contains default settings which are applied to user profiles upon their creation and set or modify several values under this key to ensure that new users have the correct regional settings and update below keys.

Locale: Set it to 00000809 (for en-GB).

sShortDate: Set it to dd/MM/yyyy.

sLongDate: Set it to dddd, d MMMM yyyy.

If applicable, use Intune or Azure Policy to enforce regional preferences.

Enable Group Policy to enforce UK regional settings for all users. Open Group Policy Management Console (gpmc.msc) and navigate to User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Control Panel > Regional and Language Options and set "en-GB" policy thereby apply GPO to the Organizational Unit (OU) containing your session hosts.

Please try with below suggestions;

Ensure that time zone redirection is enabled in Group Policy.

Computer Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host > Device and Resource Redirection
