I recently attempted to sign up for a subscription on Azure, but the account was deemed ineligible, and the subscription creation failed. However, during the sign-up process, I added a payment method. Now, I’m trying to remove this payment method, but I cannot find an option to do so in the "Select Payment Method" section. I checked my Microsoft account under Payment Methods as well as Azure Portals', but no cards are listed there. Despite clearing my browser cache, history, and cookies, the card still appears under the associated payment methods in Azure. Where is Azure storing this payment information, and how can I ensure my card is no longer associated with this account? I don’t want my payment details linked to an unused or ineligible account.

    Hi @Chua Shan Jing

Welcome to the Microsoft Q&A Platform! Thank you for asking your question here.

Go to the Azure Portal and check if there are any active or failed subscriptions under "Subscriptions." If you find any, you might need to cancel them before you can remove your payment method.

In the Azure portal, go to "Cost Management + Billing" and see if your payment method is listed under "Payment Methods." If it is, try removing it from there.

You should also check your Microsoft Account by going to Microsoft Account - Payment & Billing. If your payment method is listed there, remove it from this page as well.

If you’re using other Microsoft services like Xbox or Office 365, make sure to check those as well, as your card could be saved there too.

If none of these steps work, I recommend contacting Microsoft Support. They can help you remove your payment details directly. You can reach them through the Azure Support Portal or the Microsoft Support page.

If you have any further queries, do let us know.
