Due to my custom requirement, I want Form Recognizer Model in onnx or in .h5 format. Is it possible to get the model or can i download Form Recognizer Model?

romungi-MSFT 38,306 Reputation points Microsoft Employee2020-12-30T14:45:20.527+00:00 @Tirth Patel In the current scenario downloading a form recognizer model custom/pre-trained is not possible. The models can be listed by using the REST API or the SDK which are created in the region of your form recognizer resource but the model is not exposed to be downloaded offline.
If your custom requirement is to to enable a backup/DR scenario with your models you can copy your model to a different resource or a region instead.

I'm just confused where the model is exactly stored, is it internally in the Form Recognizer API? Or does it live in my Azure instance somewhere?

2021-01-04T06:19:39.747+00:00 Yes, the models are stored internally and deleting your .FOTT project files or container will not effect using the models that have been successfully trained.
The models are stored within Azure in the region you choose to create but not in your storage container used by FOTT tool. As long as you keep your form recognizer resource your trained models should be available unless you explicitly delete any models that are not required by calling the delete API. Thanks!! -

2021-01-04T14:17:31.537+00:00 That makes sense, thanks! I can see why there could be a need to export/import models as sharing of them over time for standard forms could be useful. Maybe a central repository for public models would be useful too.
