I have a HP 251-a244 Desktop computer with Windows 10. I want to update to Windows 11 but it won't let me. Is there something I can do, short of buying a new computer, to up date to windows 11?

That processor isn't listed on the Windows 11 supported CPU list here. So, no, you cannot upgrade to Windows 11 on this machine.
Note that any "workaround" you may find online are not supported and may fail at any point with future Windows updates. So proceed with caution if you decide to try to bypass the CPU requirements for Windows 11.
