I have configured the chat scenario as mention on microsoft portal step by step (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/ai-studio/tutorials/deploy-chat-web-app ) with switching the datasource to read from a word file but when trying to test, I always get the below error:

Validation error at #/data_sources/0/azure_search/parameters/endpoint: Field required

The error indicates that the endpoint field is missing in your Azure Search data source configuration. To fix this, ensure the endpoint URL is correctly added under the "Data" section in Azure AI Studio. Verify that the index name and api_key are also properly set. Additionally, ensure the Word file is indexed correctly in Azure AI Search. Update the configuration, then retest the chat scenario.

Thank you for your reply; please consider the following:

1- I am using Azure AI Foundry not Azure AI Studio.

2- I am using azure graphical interface to configure the chat scenario and everything conducted as mentioned on the Learning Portal and there is no place to set the endpoint url.

3- How to insure that the word file have been correctly indexed? I have added the datasource and everything configured with success notification.

The error suggests that the endpoint URL for your Azure Search data source might not be correctly linked in your Azure AI Foundry setup. Since the graphical interface doesn't allow you to set it manually, ensure your Azure Search service is properly associated in the configuration.

In the Azure portal, navigate to your Azure Search resource, copy the endpoint URL, and confirm if there’s an advanced settings or configuration option in AI Foundry where you can validate or add it. To verify that your Word file is correctly indexed, check your Azure Search resource’s “Indexes” section, use the Search Explorer to query the data, and confirm the index schema aligns with your file content. If all configurations seem correct but the issue persists, I recommend to raise a support request through the Azure portal .
