How do I remove Copilot?

Copilot is worthless to me and a huge distraction I don't need. All of the help articles about how to remove it are false. They say, "Do this," and the instruction turn out to be impossible. How do I get rid of this stupid junk?

And why would Microsoft foist this off on us? It's just one more way to be invasive.
