Hello Fiona Ward Ryan,
Thank you for reaching out to us on the Microsoft Q&A forum.
To make your Power BI dashboard dynamic, you need to connect it to a live data source and set up automatic data refresh. First, move your Excel data to cloud storage like OneDrive or SharePoint, or if you're using on-premises data, install the On-Premises Data Gateway.
In Power BI Desktop, connect to your data source, clean and transform it, then create your dashboard. After publishing to the Power BI Service, enable Scheduled Refresh for cloud-based data or configure the Data Gateway for on-premises data.
For real-time updates, you can use DirectQuery with a live database. Once set up, share your dynamic dashboard, which will update automatically based on your refresh settings.
