trustedinstaller MUST be overridden

Question

the sxs folder in the Windows folder in WIndows 10 is way too big and getting bigger by the day! How do I shrink this folder? How do I override trustedinstaller so I can manipulate the files in this folder? I want FULL CONTROL of MY computer as the administrator! Even after I have taken ownership of the folders and files, trustedinstaller STILL has more power than me on my own computer! How can this be? How do I fix it?! How do I put trustedinstaller in its place as #2? Help me save my hard drive!

To modify files protected by TrustedInstaller, you need to take ownership of the files.

Here's how you can try:

1. Take Ownership of Files:

• Right-click the file or folder you want to take ownership of and select Properties.

• Go to the Security tab and click Advanced.

• Next to the Owner label, click Change.

• Type your username into the text box and click Check Names, then OK.

• Check the box next to Replace owner on subcontainers and objects.

• Click Apply and OK to take ownership.

2. Grant Full Control:

• After taking ownership, go back to the Security tab in the file's properties.

• Click Edit and select your username.

• Check the box for Full control and click Apply and OK.
