Hello,

I have UniConvertoer application portable version. I was working fine before the latest Windows update, but today when I wanted to work with it, I get this error:

OS Name Microsoft Windows 11 Home

Version 10.0.26100 Build 26100 (Windows 11, version 23H2)

System Type x64-based PC

I have uninstalled this update "KB5050009" but still the same issue

Same EXACT error running multiple other softwares...

Windows 11, 24H2, Uninstall KB5050009 already. no Hyper V feature enabled....same issue

The program in question is an IP security camera viewer.

Get error on install, same as above. Have tried the following:

DISM / ScanFC

Remove Virtual Machine Platform

remove, reinstall IPCameraViewer

Run in Compatablity Mode

7 and 8

5.Runas Administrator 6.Download IPCameraViewer Update (4.1.2 or 4.12...depends where you see it) 7.Remove Windows Update installs (only two, one of which is KB from above) 8.Reinstall OS

Several variations on installing as admin, different profiles, etc.

Uninstalled Security Update for Windows (KB5050009) and rebooted.

Able to use IP Camera Viewer 4 again.

Found that if the IP Camera Viewer 4 app was installed after Windows was updated to 24H2, it works fine. But if you installed IP Camera Viewer 4 before updating to 24H2, it fails with the error. Called DeskShare and was told they knew about the issue and was working on it. Was given no ETA.

Apparently it is a win 11 24h2 problem with all portable apps. The only way I managed to overcome it, was to return to the previous version, using the trouubleshoting options in efi (restarting the pc while holding the shift key will show you that menu), but I have read that it is applicable for a short time after updating. Has anyone managed to bypass this?

Hello,

this KB is the latest security update refer to Win11 24H2. What's your OS build version(26100.xxxx) after uninstalling

this update? If other new updates also has been installed. Check the update history in settings, uninstall update to check.

I also suggest that you could check if the application new version could be updated, try to reinstall it.

The same issue with ARCHICAD and others Portable App.
Appears after 24H2 Update.

Please understand -> issue is with Portable App, so "reinstaling" is not a option.

Weird bahavior of Windows 11 is that is creating "Sandbox" folder, even though Home Edition shouldn't have Sandbox. But basically last update destroys Virtualisation and for almost a month is no update to fix this issue.

Uninstalling of update fails multiple times. I will check OS built version when I will be back in office. Please tell me how the heck I should re-install portable App? Do you know what Portable App means? And no, new version is not an option, cuz only valid licences I have for the old version of app, so I cannot use newer. I prefer to solve the problem that Virtualization is not working after update, than changing soft, buying new licences and reinstall portable Apps that were bever installed at the first place 🤦🏻‍♂️
