Currently PostfeSQL 16 supports pgvector 0.7.0, however version 0.8.0 introduced a significant improvement to hybrid search and it would be great to have it. Is there a plan to support it and what would be the timeline?

Hello Marko Simic,

Thanks for your question.

Currently, pgvector 0.7.0 is in GA and there is not yet an announcement of a release on 0.8.0 in GA.

See: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/postgresql/flexible-server/release-notes#release-july-2024

You should be able monitor the updates per this on https://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/updates.

Or if it is a feature you want the team to know you want, please post on the feedback portal here:

You can mark it 'Accept Answer' and 'Upvote' if this helped you

Regards,

Abiola
