Microsoft Authenticator not working

Hi,

I'm trying to add my university account to the authenticator app and it keeps sending me in a loop! I've been trying to sign into my university account to see my rota so I know when I'm supposed to be in my classes but it asks for an authenticator code, so I went to add my account to the authenticator and all it does is send you in an endless loop of "please enter the code from the authenticator app", but guess what, I can't, because I am on the authenticator app to add that account! There's no way to get around it. Would appreciate any help since I can't ask my university since I can't sign in to email anymore!
