How to fix, Outlook in Office 365 "we're having trouble fetching results from the server"

I just had a user report the same (or very similar) issue to the issue which was investigated under Issue ID: EX939228. Searching in her client produces no results with the error "we're having trouble fetching results from the server". Searching from webmail also fails, as does the Outlook client on iPhone, strongly suggesting this is a server-side problem.

Do you mean that the issue occurs with one user in your organization?

If so, please change to another computer and add his/her account to Outlook to check if the issue persists.

Hi Bart

We have a user reporting an identical issue. I reported a service health issue to Microsoft and it was closed with 'No issue found'.

I've raised a support case, I'd suggest you (and anyone reading this) to do the same.
