why isn't the "reply" icon showing up in outlook for some of my email replies

When I reply to an email most of the time the "reply" icon does not show up in Outlook (the little arrow) or in gmail. For some replies it does, but not most and there doesn't seem to be any consistency about the ones where it does show up. I'm using Outlook 365.

Yes, that's the icon I'm talking about. Here is a screen shot from Outlook. I've replied to all these emails but the icon is only showing on one of them.

Based on my test in my Outlook 365, after i replied to the emails successfully, the Reply icon will be displayed. I found that if i tried to reply to an email but the replied email is not sent actually for some reason (although it appears in my sent folder), then i received an NDR email and the Reply icon will not be displayed. Please check if you have replied to the emails successfully.

All of my emails that don't show a reply icon have definitely been replied to and the emails were sent.

Yes, the issues is also in Gmail on the web.

If so, in order to further confirm if the issue is related to Outlook desktop client, please add another account to Outlook to check if the reply icon shows up correctly.

If the icon shows up with other accounts in Outlook, combined with the same issue in Gmail web, I'm afraid the issue is more relevant to your account.
