I have recently changed my email address. I now have the New Outlook installed through Office 365. I have both my old email address and my new email address as two separate accounts. I want to be able to save my emails from my old account before my current provider closes me down. they are currently in a folder inside the archive folder of my old account. In the old version it was easy to go to File, etc but the new version seems to not have this option or anything like it. Please help!

Thank you

    Hello Nigel Duffin,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

I understand that you want to export your old emails that are on your old account to the new one. Here are the steps to export your emails from the old account using the New Outlook:

    1. Open the New Outlook and go to the Settings (gear icon) in the upper right corner.
    2. In Settings, select General > Privacy and Data.
    3. Click on Export Mailboxes. This process may take up to 48 hours, and you will receive an email with a link to download your mailbox content

Since the New Outlook does not support importing .pst files yet, you can try to use the classic version of Outlook to import the exported emails:

    1. Open the classic version of Outlook.
    2. Go to File > Open & Export > Import/Export.
    3. Select Import from another program or file and click Next.
    4. Choose Outlook Data File (.pst) and click Next.
    5. Browse to the location of your exported .pst file, select it, and follow the prompts to complete the import process.

I hope the information is helpful!

    Regards,

    Gao

    Hello again Nigel Duffin,

I am sorry for the delay on providing a response. In this case, you can try the following:

    Export Emails from:

    • Gmail: Go to your Gmail settings, select "Forwarding and POP/IMAP," enable IMAP, and then use a tool like Google Takeout to export your emails.
    • Yahoo: Go to your Yahoo Mail settings, select "More Settings," then "Mailboxes," and enable POP access. Use a tool like Yahoo Mail Backup to export your emails.

    Import Emails to Outlook:

    • Open Outlook and go to File > Open & Export > Import/Export.
    • Select Import from another program or file and click Next.
    • Choose Outlook Data File (.pst) and click Next.
    • Browse to the location of your exported file, select it, and click Next.
    • Choose the folder where you want to import the emails and click Finish.

If you are using another email provider, please do let me know and I can look for more information to see if it is posible. Hope the information was helpful!

    Regards,

    Gao
