Hello,

I would like to inquire about the timeline regarding Microsoft's support for Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) . Specifically, I am seeking clarification on the following:

When will Microsoft stop supporting WSUS?

Is there an official end-of-life or end-of-support date announced for WSUS?

Understanding this information is critical for our planning and ensuring that we remain compliant with support policies and security standards. If there are any resources or official documentation available from Microsoft regarding the future of WSUS, I would greatly appreciate it if you could share them.

As WSUS was included in Server 2025, WSUS will work in a supported state until at LEAST 2035, so you have at least 10 years of use. There is no need to rush out to find a new system. If the current system works for you, keep using it. WSUS is embeded into MANY systems - from 3rd party tools to even Microsoft tools (ConfigMgr uses WSUS under the hood).

Microsoft also has not given us clear details as to if Drivers will be able to be manually imported into WSUS using our Import-WsusUpdate or Microsoft's "script" which is very inferior to ours.

Microsoft's notification is literally just saying they are 'stopping' all development on WSUS. Some may say that development was stopped a long time ago, but now they are making it official. I say that there has been development for WSUS, but it was all back-end to support upgrades of Windows 10 and 11, UUP, etc.

    Hello,

As of my knowledge cutoff in October 2023, Microsoft has not announced an end-of-life (EOL) or end-of-support date for Windows Server Update Services (WSUS). WSUS remains a supported component of Windows Server, and Microsoft continues to provide updates and security patches for it. However, it's important to stay informed about Microsoft's lifecycle policies and any potential changes in the future.

For the most up-to-date information on WSUS support, refer to the official Microsoft documentation: Search Product and Services Lifecycle Information - Microsoft Lifecycle | Microsoft Learn
