Azure Devops - Query Execution Requires Instance-Level Visibility - Security vs Functionality Conflict

Current Setup:

  • Users are in any organisation level security group that has "View instance-level information" set to false to restrict access to sensitive organization settings
  • Users have Basic licenses and are project members
  • Users can access projects but cannot execute queries

Error Message Received: "Access Denied: [GUID] needs the following permission(s) to perform this action: View instance-level information"

Expected Behavior: Users should be able to execute queries within their assigned projects while still being restricted from viewing organization-level settings.

Is there a supported way to allow query execution without exposing organization settings?
