I create a virtual disk and setup ""Fixed". Now the storage is appoaching deplete.

I have no experience about this ISCSI disk deploy. I am a fraid of if I perform "reset disk". I will lost all the files in the disk.

Do the files remain on the folder when I remove the virtual disk?

please give advice how to extension the storage without damage to the files inside?

Hey,

In case I understood you, you have created fixed VHDX to share it via iSCSI, which is occupies all the available space on the volume. In order to delete it and keep your data, you should connect it via iSCSI and move data to any available storage at your network.
Speaking about extending the storage underneath the iSCSI Virtual Disk, it would be great to know what do you have there. RAID, single disk etc.

You can use any PC or server available to create iSCSI device using StarWind free to copy your data of the Virtual Disk in order to extend it.

In any case, I would always recommend to backup data first, if possible.
