A Microsoft app for iOS and Android devices that enables authentication with two-factor verification, phone sign-in, and code generation
Not receiving Microsoft Authenticator verification requests after deleting and reinstalling app
I had the multi-factor authentication set up for my student account using the Microsoft Authenticator app, which I had downloaded on my phone and iPad. When I was trying to sign in the other day, I was getting the verification request through the app on my iPad, which was annoying when trying to sign in on my phone. I had previously received verification requests through my phone, and I thought I should just delete the app on my iPad so the requests would only come through on my phone, as I assumed one of the available devices was being selected to receive the request. However, after deleting the app I don’t get the verification request on my phone, and even after reinstalling the app on my iPad I now don’t get the request on either device. I tried removing the account in my iPad’s Microsoft Authenticator app, but that didn’t fix anything. When I try to sign into my personal account though, my phone receives the request as normal.
The apps on both devices are up to date and with notifications turned on.
What should I do? Should I try to contact my University’s IT department?
Thank you.
