Hello,

I just got hire into System Admin/Network Position. Within the organization, we have office 365 was manually created by the previous IT and every users on Premise are already on Azure AD admin center but with different password same username.

I like to know if I install Azure AD connect on one of the on Premise domain and sync to Azure AD, will there be a duplication accounts to the Azure AD ? What's the best way to do this if it's going to duplicate or cause any issues.

There are more than 200 accounts on Azure AD and I don't want to go and manually delete them and create again.

thanks

    Quick question!

Please can you check the source of the users in AAD portal, are they Active Directory or Azure Active directory users ?

If you see source as active directory user, that means they are sync from om-prem and they shouldn't have different password.

If the source shows as azure active directory they might have different password.

Syncing with Azure AD Connect will create duplicate users if the sync domain extension is not verified in Azure, meaning that you sync example.local and or example.com

Please let me know if you have additional question.

thanks for a response. I think it is Azure Active Directory according to the image below and my boss manually added in office365 whenever there's a new hire.
