Issues after importing Outlook calendar

Hello, I am having a problem with my Outlook calendar. I recently got a new computer, so I was importing my old Outlook calendar (via Outlook data files .pst) into my new Outlook and I was able to add the calendar. However, now my old calendar is not saving as my primary calendar. I did go into account settings and set my imported calendar as my default calendar, but all new meeting invitations are still being sent to a different calendar specific to my new computer. I am also not able to copy over the calendar items from one calendar to the other.

How can I make my imported calendar the default calendar where all new meeting invitations are sent to? My new computer has Microsoft Office Professional 2016 installed on it and I'm using the classic version of Outlook.

A separate issue I'm having is that I would love to use the new version of Outlook, but I couldn't figure out how to save my outlook data files for my calendar and contacts into this version of Outlook. I also could not find a "File" option so I could search for the import/export option. Does anyone know if this is possible on the new version of Outlook? Would I be able to import my calendar and contacts into this version at all?

    Hi @LaceyMW

    Welcome to our forum!

As i know: Meetings are generally created on the recipient's default calendar, and depending on the recipient's account.

Even if you import the previous calendar of the same account B and set it as a separate calendar B', the meetings you receive on account B will only appear on the default calendar of account B. In the same way, if you import the calendar of account B to account A and set it as a separate calendar, even if you set the imported calendar as the default, the meeting you receive will also appear on the default calendar of account A. So it is recommended that you import that imported calendar directly to the default calendar.

Would I be able to import my calendar and contacts into this version at all?

Based on my research, it is not yet supported to use import/export function in New Outlook. I am afraid that you need to switch back to the legacy Outlook to continue to use this feature.

Please kindly understand that many functions are not designed at present. To get this feature more quickly, I have found a post in feedback collection website, and you could vote for it. Many features of our current products are designed and upgraded based on customers’ feedback. You can also make suggestions on that website and hope Microsoft will notice this in the future. User's image
