Outlook crashes when I expand calendars

Hi,

Last week (around Feb 12, 2025), I went to expand Outlook (new) calendars and noticed Outlook closed. This slowly became more and more of an issue as I was no longer able to expand the list of ofter calendars to turn my coworker's calendars on/off.

Our tech support, "resetting the application, uninstalling and reinstalling, we ended up removing all accounts except" my primary work email (Office365). That makes Outlook work, however, I need at least my work Google account to be active in Outlook too.

I tried adding my work Gmail into Outlook today and the issue with crashing when I expanded calendars returned.

Normally, I have 2 Office 365 & 2 Gmail accounts active in Outlook. This is causing serious productivity issues.

What is going wrong - is this an issue with an update last week?

Thank you in advance (esp if you are confirming you have this issue too).

    Hi @Kelly Monteleone

    Welcome to our forum!

Based on my research, there are no recent known bugs that have caused this issue.

Fixes or workarounds for recent issues in new Outlook for Windows - Microsoft Support

Are there any error prompts when the calendar crashes?

What account type did you add to your Gmail account (POP/IMAP/Exchange)?

Try deleting the problematic account, then switching back to the classic version, and then switching back to New Outlook to add the account again.

Hi all - I'm sorry so many people are having this issue. I don't know what finally fixed things, but the Microsoft support team asked me to try again last week, and now everything is working correctly again.

    Steps that were taken:

    • uninstall and reinstall Outlook
    • running the repair tool
    • switching between classic and new outlook
    • deleting old Outlook profiles (old control panel/mail (Microsoft outlook) - I had 2 profiles
    • ensured immersive reader was closed/off

What worked... traveling for work and not being at my computer ... sorry, I know this is not helpful.

Microsoft's recommendation was to create a new user profile. Good luck to all.
