Problems verifying my Office365 subscription

I have a subscription account for Microsoft office, and when trying to run word it is prompting me to login to my microsoft account. It requested I verify my details and emailed a code to my email account that I have noted on my Microsoft subscription account.

It then request I provide my PC Pin Login details.

I have never been asked this previously on the occasions when my word subscription is not being recognised. It normally just requests the verification code and then recognises my subscription.

My question is why it is requesting my PC Pin login details? It never has previously when it needs my subscription verified.

When I go in via a browser to my subscription it sees this PC as signed in to its subscription.

At the moment I am running a reinstall to try to get the product back working.

Tried again and at the prompt where my PC pin was requested I selected try another option. One option was to enter verification via email again. On entering the email verification a second time (off the PC pin login, try another option) it accepted the email verification on this occasion.

I now have access to my office applications.
