Dear Microsoft Certification Team,

I hope you are doing well. I previously obtained the Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) certification; however, it has been expired for the past two years. I am now planning to take the AZ-400: Designing and Implementing Microsoft DevOps Solutions exam.

I would like to clarify whether passing the AZ-400 exam alone will grant me the Azure DevOps Engineer Expert certification, or if I need to first renew my AZ-104 certification to meet the requirements.

I appreciate your guidance on this matter. Looking forward to your response.

Best regards,

    Hi,

To earn Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, you need to have Active Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) and/or Active Azure Developer Associate (AZ-204) in addition to passing AZ-400. If you want to use AZ-104 as your prerequisite then you will need to pass the exam again since you allow the certification to expire.

    Thanks.
