- Open Device Manager and ensure the COM port is listed under "Ports (COM & LPT)".If there's a yellow exclamation mark, right-click the COM port and select "Update Driver".
- Uninstall the current FTDI drivers from Device Manager. Download and re-install the latest drivers from the FTDI website.
- Ensure the correct COM port settings (baud rate, data bits, stop bits, and parity) are configured in both MobaXterm and PuTTY.
- Ensure no other software is using the same COM port.
- Sometimes, switching to a different USB port can resolve connectivity issues.
- If possible, test the FTDI/RS232 device on another computer to rule out hardware problems.
