Hello Everyone,

I am facing a COM port issue when connecting an FTDI/RS232 device via MobaXterm and Putty. This issue is occurring on both Windows 10 and Windows 11. However, there are no USB restrictions, and the proper drivers have been installed.

Can someone please help me resolve this problem?

    Hello

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue:

    1. Open Device Manager and ensure the COM port is listed under "Ports (COM & LPT)".If there's a yellow exclamation mark, right-click the COM port and select "Update Driver".
    2. Uninstall the current FTDI drivers from Device Manager. Download and re-install the latest drivers from the FTDI website.
    3. Ensure the correct COM port settings (baud rate, data bits, stop bits, and parity) are configured in both MobaXterm and PuTTY.
    4. Ensure no other software is using the same COM port.
    5. Sometimes, switching to a different USB port can resolve connectivity issues.
    6. If possible, test the FTDI/RS232 device on another computer to rule out hardware problems.

I hope the information above is helpful.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.

    Best Regards,

    Daisy Zhou
