Starting February 28, 2025, we are eliminating the need for us to authenticate on your behalf. Instead you will have access to an executable (.exe) file to create projects. The application is available now and you can learn how to run it in the AzDevOpsDemoGenerator repo. If you encounter any issues, please let us know by creating an issue here

@kobulloc-MSFT Demo generator is taking me to GitHub page where instructions are not clear and they are only for windows. What to do if I have macOS and I want to use Azure DevOps on cloud via https://dev.azure.com/

Hi kamlesh singh and Piyush Bhatia, I checked around and found that from MS side, indeed there is no direct document for DevOps Generator created for Mac OS (I am assuming you're on the latest M series silicon). Not just the Github link, but the official document also explains using windows- https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/devops/demo-gen/use-demo-generator-v2?view=azure-devops

Currently, the provided executable is designed for Windows environments. Your feedback will be taken into account and accordinly updated for Mac OS (M series silicon)

Until then, you have two workarounds here-

1- The Azure DevOps Demo Generator is available as a hosted service accessible via a web browser. This platform allows you to create projects with pre-populated sample content directly in your Azure DevOps organization without the need for local executables.

2- If you prefer to use the executable, (This is just my personal suggestion to you to overcome your blocker at this moment) you can run Windows applications on your Mac using virtualization tools like Parallels Desktop or VMware Fusion (based on the silicon version you download it). These tools enable you to create a Windows environment on your macOS device, allowing you to execute the provided .exe file.

Hi mate

I was trying the first option only. But as per instructions, there is no Sign In option available. Instead it takes me to the github page and only allow me to use option 2.

Any other ideas as how to use option 1?

Screenshot below that shows that "Sign In" option is missing from Feb 28th, 2025.
