Windows Server Spinning Dots on Startup

Hello,

Having an issue with our Windows Server 2019 VM. Since the most recent update "Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB4512578)", our server will not load past the Windows screen with the "circling dots". I am not able to uninstall that update because it is "required" by my computer. I am able to boot to safe mode with networking. Gone through all the DSIM scans and sfc can, everything comes back perfect, no repairs needed. Tried to boot to last known good configuration. Tried repair. Running out of ideas before doing a fresh install.

Any help or insight is greatly appreciate!!

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.

Based on the description, I understand your question is related to issues after install KB4512578.

As KB4512578 is a very old update, it might be outdated and cannot provide enough security protection and updates needed. It is recommended to install the latest windows update for server 2019, which is November 12, 2024—KB5046615:

    November 12, 2024—KB5046615 (OS Build 17763.6532) - Microsoft Support

You can try install the latest update by clicking Settings/ Windows update/ Check for updates. After installation machine need reboot.

    Have a nice day.

    Best Regards,

    Molly
