Hi. I turned a folder into a network drive a while back to share it and for some reason wehn i clicked on it it said something about it not being able to connect to it. i have now deleted the network drive as i wanted to try and relink it but now i have copletely lost access to all my files. I hope to god that this has not deleted all my files but merely lost the link to them. How can I find my files again? thanks.

    Hello ,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.

If you delete the link to the network drive but do not delete the actual files, usually your files still exist in their original location. Here are some steps that can help you retrieve files:

    1. Find the folder you initially shared. Normally, a network drive is just a shortcut to that folder. You can navigate directly to the original location of the folder through the File Explorer.
    2. Open File Explorer and check the "Network" section in "This Computer" or "My Computer" to see if you can find the path to the original folder.
    3. If you remember the file names, you can enter them in the search box of the file explorer to see if you can find them.
    4. If you accidentally delete files, you can check the recycle bin to see if you can recover them.

I hope the information above is helpful.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.

    Regards,

    Jill Zhou
