Question

Since the last Microsoft update on January 31, 2025 I can not get past my login screen. My PIN does not work and I get the 0xd0000225 code. I've done the recovery mode and I can't get my Recovery Key. For some reason my Microsoft drive account does not have my new computer registered which is strange to me since it has a drive name on the recovery screen. The PIN email it is trying to use is a dead and very old email account. I can't even restore back to original settings. This is VERY disappointing.

I'm not sure why the recovery key is not getting to my microsoft account which I can log into. I need some serious help.

I tried the command in the link you sent me but I can't get to my C prompt. It says the drive is locked by BitLocker Drive Encryption. You must unlock this drive from the Control Panel. How do I do that?

You have to use Bitlcoker recovery key to unlock the drive before you can turn off Bitlocker encryption.

According to your description, the Bitlocker recovery key might be in the old account, but you can't use this email now right?

If you can't find your Bitlocker recovery key, the only solution is to format it.

**Important:**Microsoft Support is unable to provide, or recreate, a lost BitLocker recovery key.

Since you can't log in to your computer right now, you'll need to perform a fresh installation of Windows using the Installation Assistant.
