Is this behavior normal?

Question

I set up an active directory in 2025 (fully patched).

I joined a windows 11 24H2 to this domain (fully patched).

When I launch the server manager on the Windows 11 24H2 with the "run as another user" with a domain administrator account everything goes well...

But when I link a GPO on the organizational unit that includes the machine, I have another request for the password of the account on which I am logged in!!!!

The GPO adds different accounts as administrators of the machine and it uses restricted groups.

Is this behavior normal?

Please check if it is the same behavior on another client machine and on Domain Controller.

I'm also on hyper-v!

I'm on a French keyboard...

When I have the shortcut in the taskbar, I right-click on the icon while pressing SHIFT and I select "run as another user".... simple:

How do you select "run as another user" when you open Server Manager?

Because my Domain Controller and client in lab is VM, it does not work when I click Shift key.

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.

I open server manager on client, I do not have "Run as a different user" when I right click Server Manager.

I check the same operations on Domain Controller, it only need the credential twice (one for Server Manager and one for UAC) when I right click Server manager and click "Run as a different user". Then I click other tools, it will not request credential.
