WPA2 Enterprise authentication is not working with Public CA in Windows 10

We have faced many issues with our Android users regarding WPA2 enterprise authentication, so we have opted to use a public CA certificate. After implementing the public certificate, the authentication issues for Android users have been resolved. However, Windows 10 22H2 is still not connecting with the public CA, even though it works fine with the local CA. Is there a solution for this compatibility issue?

    Hello,

This issue can occur for a number of reasons, including certificate configuration in Windows 10, trusted root CA settings, or network profile settings. Here are the recommended troubleshooting steps:

    1. Make sure the public CA certificate is properly installed in the Trusted Root Certification Authorities store on your Windows 10 device. You can check this by opening certmgr.msc and navigating to Certificates > Trusted Root Certification Authorities > Certificates.
    2. Check the Event Viewer logs for any errors related to network authentication. This can provide more insight into the issue.

    Best regards

Usually, we do not install certificates on laptops when we use a local CA certificate. I tried to install the certificate, it was installed, and I can see it under Trusted Root Certification Authority, but it is not connecting and also not receiving any logs in the NPS.

    Hi,

Thanks for your reply. it is recommended to check the event log to see if there are any related error messages. Type "Event Viewer" in the search bar and filter possible related error messages in the system log.

Make sure all the latest Windows Updates are installed, as they may contain fixes for known issues related to network connectivity and authentication.

    Best regards
