Why won't new PC connect to server?

We had a power outage at village hall thanks to an electrician who killed the power before employees had a chance to shut down. Since that interruption one of the PCs cannot communicate with the Server 2016 Essentials machine. The Connector pretty much gives me the finger. The other 2 PCs connect to both the internet and the server like nothing happened.

Clients are 2 Dell OptiPlex 3040, purchased and installed in 2020 and a new 3040 I'm having issues with. The two working clients are Windows 10 Pro, the new one is Win 11 Pro

Server is a Dell PowerEdge T130 with Windows Server 2016 Essentials.

I've been chasing my tail for a couple of days trying to resolve this issue. I can PING the server all day long and can PING back to the PC from the server. In lieu of the Connector I changed the name of the PC to the correct name. I also changed the settings from WorkGroup to Domain and tried to match all the settings on the 2 working machines. However when I try to update the domain name to the correct one that's when all the drama starts. "Server does not exist" is the constant error I get.

I don't if I have forgotten something since I don't work with this every day. At this point I don't know if it's the server or the PC. Everything appears to be hunky-dory on the server. I really could use some help.

Honestly I have not had one day of trouble out of this network since I installed it in 2020. This is the second such system I have installed here since 2015. The first one never gave me any trouble either so my troubleshooting isn't exactly up to par. BTW this is the only customer I have. I'm disabled and definitely in the dark right now.

Thanks in advance!

    Hello,

Have you checked whether the computer is visible in 'Active Directory Users and Computers' on the server?

Is the IP configuration on the Windows 11 machine accurate? This should include a valid IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS server settings. Also, confirm if the computer can successfully resolve the server's hostname to its corresponding IP address.

As a troubleshooting step, try temporarily disabling the firewall to see if it makes any difference.

    Regards,

    Karlie

Hi Karlie thanks for the help. I'm sorry to not respond to your suggestion sooner. I have to admit I think I had a moment of insanity and replied to you on another post 🙄

The Win11 pc and the user name both appear on the server but not her IP Address. The network settings are correct on the client and I can ping its IP address and vice versa.

Disabling the firewall had no effect.

I will try to resolve the host name when I get back in there.

    Thanks again
