    Hello @Action mask

1.Any error messages when you create the VM ? Get deployment operations and error message

2.Review the status of the VM through activity log. View activity logs to monitor actions on resources

3.What if you download RDF File, can you connect in this way?

4.Sometimes restart the VM can help resolve the problem.

5.Make sure that the account you're using to connect with has Remote Desktop sign-in rights. As a workaround, use a domain or local administrator account to connect over Remote Desktop. To add the desired account to the Remote Desktop users local group, use the Microsoft Management Console snap-in (System Tools > Local Users and Groups > Groups > Remote Desktop Users).

Please first go through general troubleshooting steps: Troubleshoot Remote Desktop connections to an Azure virtual machine

@Action mask Are you able to RDP the VM through Azure Portal (serial console)?

Another reason could be due to permissions on the subscription/Resource Group/Certificate issue. Please verify permissions on subscription/Resource Group. Are you able access other VMs?

Please check the Activity Log for more information about the VM.

    • Restart the VM,
    • Try to reset the Password (Select Reset configuration only and update it_
    • Check port 3389 enabled
    • Click on ‘RDPSettings’ and then click on Run and please wait for some time until the output comes on the right side of your monitor screen. Accordingly, repeat the same steps separately for ‘ResetRDPCert’ as well as ‘SetRDPPort’.
    • Try disabling OS firewall and check for the status

For the RDP issue, you can check if the public IP and RDP port are open on the VM. Please use this link to check if the Public IP and Port are active.

I faced the same error and the following fixed the issue for me.

    1) Reset the VM password.
