Dear community, (L.s.)

good morning.

Is there a way to tell the .rdp (10.0.22621) file ,where connection settings are stored, the placing of its window(s)? How?

    Hello,

There isn't a direct setting within the .rdp file or the Remote Desktop Connection application itself to predetermine the position of the Remote Desktop window on your screen. However, you can use third-party window manipulation tools to automate the positioning of windows.

    Regards,

    Karlie

Are you sure? Because I took the liberty to look into the rdp-files with Notepad and there are some settings there that séém to do just that.

I've saved seven rdp files and when I am opening them they put their windows as in the screenshot.

    But how?

I am getting tired only by looking at it and it seems I need to be asleep for 95 percent to get what I got but if you look closely it is all almóst as I wanted and we all know that almost is as good as not at all.

I've no clue as in how I did what I did and help is appreciated very much.

How do I get my different .rdp windows opening at the right place?

    Hello,

Apologies I couldn't locate the screenshot you mentioned. Please find below the details of the RDP file settings Supported RDP properties with Remote Desktop Services | Microsoft Learn

Within the "Display Settings" section, you have the option to modify the desktop's width and height parameters. Unfortunately, there isn't a direct setting to adjust positional values within this configuration.

    Dear Karlie Weng,

    good evening.

Yes, well, here it is again and improved.

As this clearly proves positioning can be done, I do not know how I did it. We do not want to store credentials, right? (I changed to Enterprise and there is Kerberos and no support for storing credentials)(But this is not at issue right now)

    Yours sincerely,
