Windows 10 still not rendering foreground colors correctly

This is a problem that has been around for years and it still is a problem with the latest version of Windows 10. I've also seen it in Windows 11.

Regardless of whether you are using LIGHT, DARK, or CUSTOM theme for colors, Windows 10 and 11 will render the foreground text as white on light gray and white backgrounds for any legacy app including Microsoft apps like SQL Management Studio and button tags on web pages. There is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY for the end user to fix this. Rebooting and running Windows update does NOTHING to fix this. Some days text is rendered properly. Some days it is not. This is a long-standing bug in Windows 10 and 11. Windows XP, 7, and 8.1 did NOT have this problem.

This is also a serious problem because it makes critical text in apps unreadable. Yes, absolutely unreadable because it's often WHITE ON WHITE text not just white on light gray. Microsoft needs to take this bug seriously. It affects countless apps.

    Hello,

Welcome to post in the Microsoft Community Forum.

It seems to be a known problem with Windows 10 and 11 where the text color in some applications becomes unreadable due to the color scheme settings.

If you're using any third-party software for desktop customization, it might be causing the issue. You can try closing the third-party app.

Here are some examples to consider:

Unreadable font ... White on White Background and Text - Microsoft Community

mouse over texte unreadable - White on White - Microsoft Community

If the problem persists, it's best to report it directly to Microsoft through its feedback center app. To learn more, see Send feedback to Microsoft with the Feedback Hub app.

Microsoft will continue to evaluate and improve its products to provide the best possible user experience.

    Regards.

No, this is not the problem. No third-party software is being used. It's all Microsoft software such as Microsoft SQL Management Studio.
