    Hi Klob-Jorkan,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Community Forum.

Local Users and Groups are outdated and don't work properly, if you want to set an admin password, you can try setting a local admin password. Here are the steps on how to do it:

Log in to the server: Log in to Windows Server 2019 with domain administrator privileges.

Open Computer Management: You can do this by pressing Win + X keys, then selecting "Computer Management," or by navigating to "Administrative Tools" in the Control Panel, and then selecting "Computer Management."

Select Local Users and Groups: In Computer Management, navigate to "Local Users and Groups" > "Users."

Change the Administrator Password: Right-click on the "Administrator" user, select "Set Password," and then follow the prompts to set a new local administrator password.

Log out or restart: Once done, log out the current user or restart the computer to apply the changes.

Now, you can log in to the Windows Server 2019 client using the set local administrator password without needing domain user credentials. Note that this only affects local user logins and does not impact domain user logins.

    Best regards

    Hi Neuvi,

Thanks for your advice unfortunately, I am using windows server 2012 R2.

my purpose is that i wanted to set a computer client partition but it cannot because I don't have have any a local user password to logon the computer directly so, here is it possible to give a permission to the computer client user to set a partition drive. Note: all computer clients are only having drive (C:) so, i wanted to setup another drive is (D:) for enabling the Bitlocker as Fixed Data Drive from GPO or manual.

so, i do hope that there is another way to do it or not.

    Thank you

    Hi Klob-Jorkan,

    Have a nice day!

You want to partition your disk, and that's pretty straightforward. But you can't log in to the computer right now, so you can't do that, you have to fix the problem of not being able to log in first, and then you can divide the disk.

    Best regards

    hi Neuvi,

I know that so is there any way that we can divide a new partition to a computer client via GPO? or impossible to do that.

    Thank you

    Hi Klob-Jorkan,

    Have a nice day!

To the best of my knowledge, it's not possible to implement GPO when unable to log in.

    Best regards
