Hello:

I have discovered a small problem with windows server 2025. After installing same, I see that my ethernet connection 1 is x'd out and is not connected. Now, the ethernet cable connecting the computer to the router is plugged into ethernet 1, however, the internet connection is on Ethernet 2 where there is no cable plugged in. How did this happen and what can I do to fix it, Allen

    Hello,

Based on my understanding of your problem, I suggest you try to use network reset to see if it can solve the problem. Please refer to the following steps:

    1. Select the Start button, then enter settings. Select Settings > Network & internet > Advanced network settings > Network reset. Open Network & internet status settings
    2. On the Network reset screen, select Reset now > Yes to confirm.

Wait for your PC to restart and see if that fixes the problem.

Note:Network reset removes any network adapters you have installed and the settings for them. After your PC restarts, any network adapters are reinstalled, and the settings for them are set to the defaults.

    Best Regards

    Hi:

Thank you for the response. I have another question for you. Sometimes when the computer boots up, I get a login screen for administrator and I log in. There are other times when I get a other user screen instead of the administrator screen for login, what is going on here. When it logs on as administrator, the network icon show my domain name as the connection. When it logson with the other user screen, I get a Network Access screen and not the domain name screen connection, will a network reset fix that as well, thanks, Allen

    Hi Allen,

network reset does not solve the problem. To assist you with your concern, we recommend that you check the current settings of the account using Netplwiz tool. It is a useful tool in Windows for managing user accounts. To check the user profile, follow the steps below:

    1. Press the Windows + R keys to open the Run dialog box, type netplwiz or control userpasswords2, and click on OK to open advanced User Accounts.
    2. If prompted by UAC, then click on Yes.

    3. To turn off automatic sign in for all users. Make sure that there is a check mark under Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer.

****In addition, if the “Administrator” account is listed under Users for this **computer,**you may decide to remove it by selecting the account and press the Remove button.

    Best Regards
