How to upgrade Windows 11 22H2?

Due to repeated unsuccessful attempts to reinstall the latest Windows 11 build, which I’ve been having for the last 2 years, I had to revert to a factory default Windows 11 installation, which I was able to upgrade only to 22H2. Now Windows Update refuses to update any further, apparently due to lifecycle policy. How can I reach 23H2 ? I’m not sure I want to update to 24H2 yet because of the problems I had before reinstallation.

Edit: I've found KB5027397, which requires KB5031455 first. The latter is not available via Windows Update, as suggested there, but I was able to download a package from the Window Update Catalog website. However, I am reluctant to install these as I have no experience with this route. Anyone?

    Hello,

Regarding the update does not appear in your Windows Update issue, as this kind of feature update is delivered automatically by Microsoft to available machines, it is recommended to manual do the Installation Media way instead if not delivered.

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.

Based on the description, I understand your question is related to upgrade win 11 22H2 to 24H2.

Try using below website to help upgrade:

    Download Windows 11

There are 3 options below for installing or creating Windows 11 media. Check out each one to determine the best option for you.

Before installing, check the Windows release information status for known issues that may affect your device. If you're running a prior version of Windows, see the Upgrade to Windows 11:FAQ for additional information.

    Have a nice day.

    Best Regards,

    Molly

    Molly,

Thanks for replying. I do not have a prior version of Windows, so the upgrade article does not apply. As I already had Windows 23H2 running, there's also no need to check for known issues. My question just addresses the problem that the 23H2 update does not appear in my Windows Update, although I have the option “Get the latest updates as soon as they’re available,” selected.

I am very well known with the Installation Media route, however I am unsure whether this is applicable in my case. Also I would much prefer using Windows Update.

    Regards, André.

In the end I did use that approach although I still don't know why Windows Update did not deliver and would have preferred that route. Case closed.
