Cant change security settings without access to recovery email

I have a main outlook account which i have access to with email and password. This account is associated to a recovery email. Which is an old hotmail account of mine. This recovery email is the only way to verify my identity, no phone, no 2fa.

I do not have access to this old hotmail account. Changing recovery email, adding recovery option and all other security option requires that I verify my identity with the email I dont have access to. I tried the recovery form for the old hotmail account but without success. Not enough infos. It is an old account so i cant remember anything.

I am in a weird spot where i know my main account logins but cant change any security settings because of the recovery email.

It tought about filling the recovery form for my main outlook acount but if it only allow me to change the password I will still have the same problem. I need to change or add my identity verify options.

All of this because my w11 pc is bitlocked and i need some keys in security settings.

    Hi thedesperateguy,

since you don't have access to your secondary email, you won't be able to change or add authentication options. You can try to resolve this issue by contacting Microsoft support. They may require additional authentication information from you to verify your identity.
