Unknown account

I use Microsoft 365 Business for a monthly rental fee. My chosen email address has the ending “.onmicrosoft.com” I also use this email adress to sign in to my account, e.g. to access my OneDrive.

I use a GMAIL email address to log in on my old PC. I have now received a new PC and wanted to sign in with my email address, which I also use to access my Microsoft 365 Business. However, when I log in, I get the message that this account is unknown.

How can this be, since I also use Microsoft Business with it?

What do I have to do so that I can also log in on a new PC with the MS Business account?

    Hello!

I apologize as Windows login accounts are not my area of expertise, so I managed to find some references, and I hope the following is helpful:

    1. "Onmicrosoft.com account is for school or business account, that is a different domain. If you are trying to use it to login in your computer you need to use a personal account like @outlook.com." (Source: Why can't I use my .onmicrosoft account for windows? - Microsoft Community)
    2. "*.onmicrosoft.com is a corporate account and could never be turned into a Microsoft (personal account say live, outlook or hotmail.com).

To login to a device using a corporate account, you need to get the device Entra ID joined." (Quoted from: How do I use our *.onmicrosoft.com account as a Microsoft account to login windows - Microsoft Q&A)

    I hope this information helps.

    Best regards,

    Karlie Weng
