Two Windows PowerShell programs open once in about 20 minutes and after about 3 seconds they close. I could not find a solution, please somebody help me, I don't know if it has to do with a virus.

    Hello Bill,

Thank you for updating me with that information. I apologize that this did not resolve the issue.

Please try downloading this small free utility - Autoruns for Windows v13.98 from Sysinternals Live.

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/d...

    1. Click and download "Autoruns and Autorunsc".
    2. Extract the files to your computer
    3. Run Autoruns64 if you have a 64bit System
    4. Wait for all the process to load
    5. Click Options then make sure "Hide Microsoft Entries" is checked
    6. Under the Image Path column, look for entries with "File not found"
    7. Uncheck those processes
    8. Restart your PC then check if the issue still persists.

Kindly let me know if this helps or if you have any further concerns.

    Sincerely

    John DeV

    Hello Bill,

I'm John an Independent Advisor and a Microsoft user like you. I'll be happy to assist you today. I understand you have a problem with Windows PowerShell constantly opens and closes by itself.

Please try the following methods below

    1. Use your Antivirus software to scan your computer for any virus or malware.

Please try to scan your system using the free edition of Malwarebytes.

    https://www.malwarebytes.com/mwb-download/

    1. Please try to check your startup folders

Press Windows key+R to open Run then type:

    shell:startup

Hit Enter. Look for PowerShell then delete it

    1. Right click taskbar then select Task Manager

Under Start-up tab, Find PowerShell in the list

If Status Enable, Right click then Disable

    1. Perform a Clean Boot

Determine if a background program or a software conflict triggers PowerShell to pop-up.

Press Start then search and type: msconfig

Select System Configuration > go to the Services tab.

Select and put a check mark on "Hide all Microsoft services" > Click Disable all.

Go to Startup tab > Open Task Manager > Disable all the unnecessary services running there. Restart your computer.

Kindly check the support article below for more details

I tried everything, but nothing worked. I waited for a day and it still pops up about every 20 minutes or so. Also I couldn't find "shell:startup" in the second method.
