Hello
Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.
Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem:
Disable Automatic Tab Discarding: In Chrome, enter chrome://flags/#automatic-tab-discarding in the address bar. Click the dropdown box next to the highlighted entry and choose the "Disable" option. Restart your browser after this.
Reset the Browsers: Open the browser and click the three dots at the upper right side of your screen. Go to Settings, look for Reset Settings, and click Restore settings to their default values. This will reset your startup page, new tab page, search engine, and pinned tabs. It will also disable all extensions and clear temporary data like cookies. Your favorites, history, and saved passwords will not be cleared.
Repair Edge: Go to Windows settings > Apps, click on Microsoft Edge, and select Modify, then Repair.
Check for Updates: Make sure Edge is up to date. You can check this by going to Edge’s settings and clicking on "About Microsoft Edge".
Reinstall Edge: If the above steps don’t work, you might need to reinstall Edge. Before doing so, make sure to back up any important data.
Run System File Checker and DISM: Open cmd.exe with Run as Administrator. Then run the following commands:
- DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /StartComponentCleanup
- DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-Image /Restorehealth
- SFC /SCANNOW Restart your system when all the above is complete and test.
Check Desktop Background Slideshow: If you have a desktop background slideshow running, try turning it off (Settings > Personalization > Background).
Best Regards,
