Network credentials

I recently set-up my new AIO and now I'm trying to access my old desktop.

Both computers are shown on each one under the Network listing. When I try to access my old desktop I get a window from that says:

Enter Network Credentials

Enter your credentials to connect to DESKTOP - UBJMQ7 (that's my new AIO)

Then the space for the user name and below that Password
I have no idea what my AIO network credentials are. The password, not sure on that either.

Then, if I try to access my old desktop from my AIO, when I click on "C." it says I don't have the authority to access and to see my network administrator. I am the administrator for both computers.

What do I need to do to be able to access one computer from the other?

Thank you

Hello,

Based on the information you provided, I suggest you refer to the following steps:

Turn on network discovery and file and printer sharing, and then turn off password-protected sharing.

1.Select the Start button, and then select Settings.

2.In the Find Settings search bar, type "Manage advanced sharing settings", and then select "Manage advanced sharing settings" from the suggested results.

3.In the Advanced Sharing Settings window that appears, under Private, select "Turn on network discovery" and then turn on File and Printer Sharing.

4.Under All Networks, select "Turn off password-protected sharing".

Another possible source of the problem is the security permission from the folder.

1.Right-Click on the Shared folder on the original location and click on properties

2.Click on the Sharing tab then click on the Share button

3.Type the user everyone and click on Add

4.Change the permission level to read/write and click on the Share button

5.Click on the Advanced Sharing button then click on the permission

6.Click to allow full control for the user everyone

Best regards

Zunhui

    Thank you for your response.

I have decided to recycle my old computer because the hard drive has one or more problems and haven't found a solution to wipe/format it. So, I've removed it and will recycle the rest.

    Thank your time and interest.
