so im using the Lenovo Thinkpad t495s AMD Ryzen 5 pro 3500u and it's not letting me enable secure boot. I tried to enable it but it didn't let me re-boot the system. but when I disabled it again, the system boots up. the platform mode/secure boot mode is grayed out for me. I even turned off DMA protection to see if it'll let me enable secure boot but it still didn't. my bios is set to legacy instead of uefi and i didn't even find the uefi firmware option. i don't know what to do. it also says that the secure boot is unsupported for my laptop. I need a clean solution for this. I want to enable secure boot and want my bios to be set as uefi, not legacy. i want this issue to be fixed asap. so PLEASE give me a clean solution that actually works.

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.

Based on the description, I understand your question is related to secure boot.

To access these settings, you can consult your PC manufacturer’s documentation or follow these instructions:

    1. Go to Settings> Update & Security > Recovery and select Restart now under Advanced startup.
    2. On the next screen, select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > UEFI Firmware Settings > Restart to make changes.

To change these settings, you will need to switch the PC boot mode from one enabled as “Legacy” BIOS (also known as “CSM” Mode) to UEFI/BIOS (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface). In some cases, there are options to enable both UEFI and Legacy/CSM. If so, you will need to choose for UEFI to be the first or only option. **If you are unsure how to make any necessary changes to enable the UEFI/BIOS, we recommend that you check your PC manufacturer’s support information on their website.**Here are a few links to information from some PC manufacturers to help get you started:

    Dell | Lenovo | HP

While the requirement to upgrade a Windows 10 device to Windows 11 is only that the PC be Secure Boot capable by having UEFI/BIOS enabled, you may also consider enabling or turning Secure Boot on for better security.

    Have a nice day.

    Best Regards,

    Molly
