Windows 11 Professional OEM losing activation

Hi. I work for a small IT company and we use Windows 11 Professional for our servers. We build these servers in house and install OEM Windows.

About 3 months or so ago, almost every server we build loses Windows activation at some point. We can simply use the re-activation option in Windows and re-enter the same key we used initially and it's good to go. However, it's still an issue. Many times the computers are out in the field before it loses activation and it is not a great look for our company. We have to have the customer text us a pic of the Windows key on the side so we can re-activate it for them. Why is this happening? I'm sure it's related to one of the many builds in an update but is someone yet looking into it? I can't find anything online about our particular issue. Again, we know how to re-activate we just don't believe this should be happening. We've become diligent in loading all Windows updates and confirming the unit is still activated before it ships, but as I said - they sometimes lose activation at the customer's site as well.

HELP!

Wes King

    Hello WesKing3,

    sorry to hear that.

For this issue, I recommend you check the following aspects:

    1. Confirm that your Windows 11 Pro was activated using a legitimate OEM key. If you are using an illegal key, then your Windows may lose activation at some point.
    2. Confirm that your server's BIOS and firmware are up to date. Sometimes, old BIOS and firmware versions can cause Windows to lose activation.
    3. Confirm that your server's system time and time zone are set correctly. If your system time and time zone settings are incorrect, then your Windows may lose activation at some point.
    4. Make sure your server has a working network connection. If your server can't connect to the Internet or if there's something wrong with your network, then your Windows might lose activation at some point.

    Best regards,

    Lei
