Hi!

Just updated a bunch of servers 2019 and 2022 datacenter ed.(virtual machines)

One server which hosted SQL would not start after thes updates, it got stuck on loading screen.

It responded to ping but only loading screen was showing.

It only booted in safemode.

After 18 hours of testing and failing we found out that the "AllJoyn Router Service" was causing this issue.

solution was as follows:

1)log on in to safe mode.

  1. open services.msc
  2. find "AllJoyn Router Service" edit it and disable it.
  1. reboot machine.

hope this helps some one else.

my question is though, how to completely remove this service?

as i can see from other forums this service is depressed and no longer in use?

as of october 24.

best regards Håkon.

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.

Based on the description, I understand your question is related to remove AllJoyn Router Service.

    Try below steps:

    1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator, run below commands to stop and delete the service: sc stop AJRouter sc delete AJRouter
    2. Navigate to the directory where the service files are located, by default, these files may under: C:\Windows\System32\AJRouter.dll.

    Delete the AJRouter.dll files.

Then reboot the machie and monitor the issue.

    Have a nice day.

    Best Regards,

    Molly

    Hello,

Restart the computer, press and hold the F8 key as your computer restarts. The machine will show advanced boot options, choose Last Known Good Configuration and check the result.

    Best Regards,

    Molly
