Hello,

Is it possible possible to change a specific user's language in Windows Server 2019 Standard?

The default language is French, which means Microsoft Office is also in French, but I don't know the french terms for anything in the Office suite.

The IT guys are telling me that they can't change the language for my profile because it will change everyone's language.

Can anyone help me on this?

Thank you

Florin.

    Hello Florin NEAGU1,

Yes, it is possible to change the language for a specific user in Windows Server 2019 Standard. Here are the steps to do so:

    1. Log in to the server as an administrator.
    2. Open the Control Panel and click on "Clock and Region".
    3. Click on "Language" and then "Add a language".
    4. Select the language you want to add and click "Add".
    5. Once the language is added, click on "Options" and then "Download and install language pack".
    6. After the language pack is installed, go back to the "Language" settings and click on "Advanced settings".
    7. Under "Override for default input method", select the language you want to use and click "Save".

This will change the language for your user account only, and not affect other users on the server. However, keep in mind that this will only change the language for the operating system and some applications, but not necessarily for Microsoft Office. To change the language for Office, you will need to install the language pack for the specific version of Office you are using.

I hope the above information is helpful to you.

If you have any doubts, please feel free to let me know.

    Best regards

    Hello Bblythe Xiao,

I must be misunderstanding your comment.

I don't see how your tutorial would result in a different language for a specific user, rather for the Administrator account.

    Can you please explain?

    Thank you.
