Hi,

I can't connect to an WPA3-Enterprise network with a computer certificate.

Error log is showing:

Schwer wiegender Fehler beim Erstellen einer TLS-Client Anmelde Informationen. Der interne Fehler Status ist 10018. der SSPI-Client Prozess svchost[EapHost]

English (deepl)

Fatal error while creating a TLS client login information. The internal error status is 10018. The SSPI client process svchost[EapHost]

Affected Computer: ThinkPad E14 Gen 6
Wifi-Adapter: AMD RZ616

On another computer it works: ThinkPad L14 with Wifi-Adapter Qualcomm 6900 it works.

Greetings

Jens

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community forum.

The error “internal error status 10018” is typically related to issues during the TLS handshake process, possibly due to certificate, driver, or group policy problems. Here’s a more concise list of solutions:

    1. Check the Computer Certificate

Ensure the certificate is valid, issued by a trusted CA, and correctly mapped for computer authentication.

    2. Reset Network Settings

Run these commands to reset network configurations:

    netsh winsock reset

    netsh int ip reset

    3. Update Wi-Fi Driver

Update the AMD RZ616 Wi-Fi driver to the latest version, or try using the default Windows drivers.

    4. Check EAP Authentication Group Policy

Verify the EAP-related settings in Local Group Policy to ensure proper configuration.

    5. Review Event Logs

Check Event Viewer for detailed error information (Path: Applications and Services Logs > Microsoft > Windows > EAP).

    6. Network Configuration

Ensure WPA3-Enterprise and RADIUS server configurations are correct and verify the correct EAP type is enabled.

    7. Test with a Different User

Test with a different user account to rule out profile issues.

    8. Update or Rollback Windows 11

Check for updates or consider rolling back to an earlier version of Windows 11.

Try these steps and see if the issue resolves. Let me know if it persists or if you find any specific clues!
