Network Credentials problem in sharing files: How can I get access?

I'm trying to share files between computers. I believe I have correctly completed the requirements for Share, and Permissions. In trying to access the files on the other computers I am required to "Enter Network Credentials". I have tried the SSID & PW for the network. I have tried UN & PW for the network. I have tried the UN & PW for the computer I am trying to access, the UN & PW for the computer I am using, my Microsoft log-in UN & PW. It appears that none of those are the "Network Credentials" that are being requested. I have checked and repeated all these actions several times, having rebooted the computers, and still I am told "The user name or password is incorrect". What credentials is it looking for?

    Hello,

Based on the information you provided, I suggest you refer to the following steps:

Turn on network discovery and file and printer sharing, and then turn off password-protected sharing.

1.Select the Start button, and then select Settings.

2.In the Find Settings search bar, type "Manage advanced sharing settings", and then select "Manage advanced sharing settings" from the suggested results.

3.In the Advanced Sharing Settings window that appears, under Private, select "Turn on network discovery" and then turn on File and Printer Sharing.

4.Under All Networks, select "Turn off password-protected sharing".

    Best Regards

Thank you Zunhui! I removed the PW requirement on all 3 computers. As previously stated, I also went to the particular files I wanted to share and gave permissions:

    Properties > Sharing > Share > Everyone Read/Write

Properties > Sharing > Advanced Sharing > Permissions > Everyone > Full Control, Change, Read all checked

Properties > Sharing >Security > Everyone > all boxes checked to "Allow", except for "Special Permissions" left un-checked.

This is done with 3 computers on the same network. 'Principal #1' (Windows 10) & 'Principal #2' (Windows 11) computers can access / read-edit files on 'Subject' computer (Windows 11). In File Explorer, 'Subject' computer can see 'Principal #2' computer, can sometimes see 'Principal #1' computer, but more often it cannot see 'Principal #1'. When I try to access 'Principal #2' computer (or 'Principal #1' computer, when it shows) I get this:

As usual, Trouble Shooting does not identify the problem.

The network connection is Wireless. I have disconnected and re-connected the Wireless with no change in the situation. (Bluetooth is not connected.)

Both Principal #1 & 2 can see each other, and open /edit files as required.
