Here's the gist: I bought a new laptop ( Lenovo IdeaPad) as an emergency work computer because my old laptop has run out of space. It was on sale during the holidays and matched the budget I could spend at the time.
Two months in without any issues, all of a sudden, the screen goes blue and it's Bitlocker recovery on my screen. I don't know much about Bitlocker since it never popped out on my old laptop, but thankfully I have a microsoft account and found the key ID.
The main problem is that despite putting in the right numbers, it still won't let me in. I tried restarting it and putting the numbers again, did not work. I tried the advanced options, such as start up, start up repair, command prompt, uninstall updates, firmware settings, and system restore and still no results.
I even tried factory reset, but my laptop says that there was a problem resetting my PC.
I thought I could check if I can remove the battery, but it has an unremovable back that only a technician can pry it open.
These are my options:
Return it ( I have a receipt that allows me to return within 90 days of purchase)
Return it from where I bought it, and buy another elsewhere
Take it to a Best Buy or Office Depot for tech support
If anybody has a possible solution to this, please send your advices, but also let me know which of my options would be best to go by if I find no solutions.
Thank you.
UPDATE: I finally gained access to my laptop and don't know if it had to do with my charger. When I was doing all I could to access my laptop, it was not connected to its charger. Next day, I decided to plug it in for a charge and when I entered the key, it finally completed whatever it was updating and now it's working as it should be. I hope this NEVER happens again, but knowing technology, it just might screw me over again in the near future. Anyhow, if a problem occurs, try plugging your laptop to its charger while resolving things, maybe that's all it needed to get things going.
